As a proby, I was assigned to Engine 92, Ladder 44, Battalion 17 in the South Bronx in 1986. This is where I learned the importance of unionism and participation.
After 9/11, I was promoted to Captain and reassigned to E234, then in 2005, promoted to Battalion Chief.
As a Battalion Chief, I oversaw New York City’s Probationary Firefighter School, Tactical Training and Annual Education Day at the Division of Training.
In 2008, I was elected to Local 854’s Executive Board
In 2014, I was honored to become President of our great Local.
I’ve had a great career, and I have a great job. I wouldn’t trade them for anything. But there are jobs and there are callings. This is a calling.
